I haven't posted in a little while so I thought I would start back with a great little true story I heard at the last conference I attended!
A small village located off a fairly busy highway was having a problem with visitors driving really fast through their small village. The local village council could not afford a speed camera, so they put up a sign saying:
Slow Down Old People's Home. - It had no effect.
At the next meeting they decided to play on the paternal instincts and put up a sign:
Danger - Children at Play. The result was no discernible reduction in traffic speed.
Then the chairman had a great idea and suggested they try a sign with:
Nudist Colony. - As a result of the Nudist Colony notice, the traffic in the village increased ten-fold and was down to a crawl.
Eventually they decided to get a few of those cardboard cops and it worked out much better.
